Alberta is ushering in another area code which means that we folk of Alberta now must always dial ten digits instead of seven, all the time. Generally, this is fine on a cell, but what about when I have to actually punch in all the numbers? It’s brutal. And there is an obnoxious recording telling me to remember to dial the 403 if I forget. DO NOT WANT!

Yeh, it seems that plugin no longer works with the latest version of WordPress. I miss them too.
Brian told me about that, which kind of sucks, but I have yet yo dial with 10 digits and have also yet to hear the message telling me that i need to dial 403. Don’t know what that’s all about
They are adding a third area code for Alberta. And it will be for all Alberta generally, so you will have to distinguish between the codes.
Hearing that message is so extremely annoying. I don’t know when I will start to automatically dial the area code…but it sure isn’t gonna be a quick transition. And every time I hear the message I want to scream.
I don’t know why they didn’t just make 403 exclusive to Calgary, 780 exclusive to Edmonton, and give the new 250 area code to the rest of the province. Personally, I think that would have been a lot easier for everyone.
It does however open up a new class of elite where we 403 or 780s will rule supreme!
But yeh, that would have made a lot of sense.
