We got home last night from Saskatchewan and it was a truly amazing time to be home. I think to say that I am now feeling homesick would be an understatement. I think more appropriate truth and spin would be that I now have a goal—to get home. But, that’s not going to happen any time soon and not necessarily ever, but in the mean time I have a few things to keep me company. Is there anything better than Saskatoons?
I know what you mean… I miss the area that I grew up in all the time, as well as the town I went to university in (both of which are different than where I live now).
But this is where life has me for right now, so I guess I have to learn to appreciate what’s good here too, right?
I agree completely, even if I am miserable while I wait.
Saskatoons grow in Alberta, too, you know.
That picture is from my backyard in Calgary (sorry that was out of context).
I know the feeling of missing home….although I find that after a while you get used to it where you are…..that is until you go home again and it brings you back to square one.
Yup, I think that is exactly what happened last weekend. Although being in SK in July is a bit different than January. Even so, after looking at some homes in both Calgary and Regina on MLS…we could own a whole lot more home in Regina for the same kind of money (or less even). That would be fun.
Yes, I think you are exactly right Brian.
Funny because I was born and raised in small town Saskatchewan. Growing up, I always swore that I was going to get out of here and never come back. Many others I went to school with said the same. Well, I had big dreams all right. I’d left, lived in three provinces, and traveled all over North America and Europe.
Now, when we happen to catch each other downtown, we all joke that Saskatchewan has a unique way of sucking you in and getting under your skin. You always come back, even if it’s just to get in a quick visit and a quick glimpse of home.
Still stuck in Saskatchewan

I am not as well traveled, but it was definitely a benefit and it lifted my spirits tremendously just to be home for a couple of days.

4) LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE (song by Liam Titcomb)
Like a photostat
Just another news flash
Must have been a miscast
Blame it on a circumstance
Oh, probably tomorrow
Won’t be any more sorrow
This time, next time
You gotta live where you are
And you gotta love where you live
Bring it all back
To where it begins
Slipped into a lowland
Sitting in the quicksand
Looking at your own hands
You thought you were a young man
Oh, wish you had a roadmap
‘Stead you got an hourglass
This time, next time
You gotta live where you are
And you gotta love where you live
Bring it all back
To where it begins
Like a photostat
Just another news flash
Bring it all back
You gotta live where you are
And you gotta love where you live
Bring it all back
Where it begins
You gotta live where you are
And you gotta love where you live
Bring it all back
To where it begins
