It’s true. I didn’t know how much I really expected him to come back, vocal and hungry, demanding his supper, until I knew that he wouldn’t be. I’ve been picturing him walking around or sitting and he always had his tail swaying back and forth. It didn’t even seem to be an indicator of a particular mood, because it was always, always moving. Unless he was asleep, which was also the only time you could rub his soft, fuzzy, white tummy without being swiped at warningly.

Sigh. I do miss him.

I did too. Even more than I expected. We got his body about a three minute walk from our house. So he never went far and I’d like to think was just on his way home.

I am very sad. I had really expected him to swagger up the back steps in a few days with some battle scars and a swipe or two at Elly. He was just that kind of cat, you know? I’m really really sorry.
