Here's an interesting fact for you Rhett. I recently met with the director of the Norman Mackenzie Art Gallery who told me that Norman Mackenzie purchased most of his art (often smuggled into the country illegally) from the real life Indiana Jones! I didn't even know there was a historical archeologist from which the stories were based off of, let alone such an intimate connection to small town Regina, Sask. Though you might enjoy this little tid-bit considering your love for Jones.

It's not a satchel Dad, it's an attaché. :D Good story though. However, Indiana Jones was set in the 40s. So obviously it was way before the hippies.

Your talk about hippies and now this fascination with this bag brought back some old memories from my university days. Lest you think that this style of bag was invented for Indiana Jones, it wasn't. Back in the late 60's and early 70's such bags were common to hippies of that time. I will always remember a friend of mine who always referred to them as "hippie bastard satchels" sort of a 'man purse' of that time - he really was a nice person, just didn't have much use for hippies.
