Laura and I use to use Quicken, which was a really great program. Now we just use a spreadsheet.
Another great technique–foolproof really–is to figure out your monthly budget and then keep jars or envelopes of cash, each containing your monthly budget for various items (groceries, going out, ect). That way, you can actually see how much your spending. It isn’t nebulous. Laura and I did that for awhile too and it worked really well.
Quicken, with software keys, can be had on the internet. Not by upstanding folk like you, but for other people.
Yea, I have a drawer full of envelopes with cash for different things…rent, dog, savings, payments etc. It works, keeps it simple. Of course, that’s because the bank won’t give me a bank account to keep my cash money in. :dry_tb:
Budgetting in 2 steps – 1. pay rent/mortgage and bills as early after being paid as possible like immediately direct deposit works great.
2. Spend the rest on beer and pleasure and you need not worry budgetting, you may not have any worries at all actually…
Bacon – I like bacon, I once knew a pig named Bacon – kind of ironic don’t you think?
Well you are cut from something… HOW ABOUT MY LIFE!
Solid burn, Rhett, solid burn. Well, it’s my resolution to budget. Not all of us can be engineers or work for non-profits. Some of us have to work hard for da money.
Definitely! One must have a handle on the cash flow. We’ve been budgeting since the beginning of time. We use Excel. Do lots of research on budgeting. There’s plenty to know and lots of helpful hints out there. You’ll be the richer for it. :king_tb:
Being rich has nothing to do with money. Do what makes you happy and the money will take care of itself – i am not a financial planner, but it seems to be working fine for me.

I used to take money out like that except I got it in all pennies and people called me the Penny King.
Unfortunately that system would not work with Leah’s sticky fingers.
