Hey, look another News post! Two in two weeks. How exciting.
I would like to ask you a favour. One of the troubles with blogging is that, once and a while, I write something relatively brilliant (that might be too much hyperbole) and it only lasts for a couple days and then I write something else. But that relatively brilliant article might be worth a second read later on or it might be a great read for the first time for someone new. So I want to make a couple lists of reader recommended posts.
The favour
So, what are your favourite posts? New or old. Funny or sad or anything in between. Any post from the last three years of blogging. If you can find the post and leave a link to it that is easiest. But if you can even leave the name or what it was about I’ll try to find it.
You want something for your work, don’t you?
I will award a prize to one person. I can’t make you do a little work without a prize, can I? I am not entirely sure what the prize will be yet, but I have an idea. It just depends on when I get it. If not, I’ll think of something else. So there is a prize to be won and it’s worth is uncertain currently. But it will be awesome and unusual.
I really appreciate your help. Please leave comments below or feel free to use the contact form to let me know.
UPDATE: Apparently, WordPress will block you from even putting a couple links. It won’t even let you get to my spam catching plugins. If you have links, please use the contact form. Thanks.

Top 3 that I can think of (in no particular order):
1. http://www.bailingbucket.com/myths-arent-lies/
2. http://www.bailingbucket.com/the-smell-of-marriage/
3. I can’t remember the name or even the topic, but I left a comment saying that it was a damn good piece of writing. Apparently, it wasn’t a memorable piece (or I’m just a dick; you decide), but I did want to include it in the list. If you can figure out which post I’m talking about, give me the link!
I suppose the first one probably doesn’t count, because it’s mostly a big block quote, but I still enjoyed reading it.
You had 50 posts in January 2007? That’s insane!!
I’ll take a look through and get back to you.
NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just finished writing a huge comment with tons of links to all my favourites, and it was rejected as spam!!!!! Grrrrrrrr.
Okay, I’ll do the writing first, and then post the links again.
Basically, I said that your blog is a combination of humour, insight, and your personal life. I like that I can keep up with your life in such an entertaining way, and I feel like even if I didn’t know you I would really enjoy your blog. I then pointed to the couples dating post as the perfect example of balancing these three things.
Then I went on to say that I really enjoy your blog and your writing, and that I appreciated the chance to go through and re-read these posts. I hope I don’t forget any this second time around.
Thanks Ian. And thanks.
I’m sorry about your comment. I’m not sure what happened. My blog should hold all comments. It shouldn’t be blocking you. I’m going to check around. If you have any further information please send it so I can figure it out.
Yeah, it’s still not letting me, so I’ll send them to you through the contact form.
You’ve written some good tributes (Stormy, Charlie, JD). And maybe it’s because it was just recently written, but I really did like the couple dating post. I think it is my favourite. I’ll look through though and see if anything else catches my eye.
Here’s a request for you: in going back through the archives, I noticed that you were hyping the release of “Where The Wild Things Are” for years. I assume that you went to see the film. What did you think of it?
Ian’s comment is probably getting marked as spam because it has more than 2 or 3 links. I believe that the default setting for Akismet sends anything with more than 2 or 3 links to spam. Although, it probably shouldn’t apply that rule to people who have had comments previously approved, so that might not be the issue.
Can’t say I’ve read many of your posts but the couple dating one was great! I’ve passed it around my circle friends and they all get a kick out of it.
