Leah captured some really interesting video today of some Bohemian Waxwings (updated) swarming our crab apple tree for a tasty rotten crab apple snack.
I’m posting this for three reasons:
- We’ve had some interesting bird experiences in our yard and I’m wondering if anyone can help name this flock?
- You get to hear Leah swear a lot. I like this because Leah almost never swears, so when I heard this video I was killing myself with laughter. I’m almost always the one who gets in trouble for being a little too profane.
- You also get to see Elly totally mesmerized by the birds and it’s really cute. She’s my little princess.
Oh, and if you don’t feel like watching the entire video just skip to near the end to see just how many bird there actually were.
Bohemian waxwings. They’re gorgeous birds and the flocks can be huge in the winter. And that was a lot of swearing! Get her a bird guide and some binoculars for her birthday. Though you won’t find such language in a bird guide. Nope.
Haha. Thanks for letting us know, Brenda. I knew I could count on you to help.
Thank you for the info, Brenda! I sound like such a dufus in the video, haha, I didn’t even think about internet posting when I was taking it.
Luckily, I thought about posting it on the internet. One of us has to be thinking.
We once had 27 crows in the weeping birch on our front lawn. I was sure that dead relatives were going to visit that night, it was so creepy!
That’s spooky. That stuff creeps me out. It actually reminds me of that one time… I’m going to write a post about it right now.
Leah sure does swear a lot.
