We have spent many hours at the new house this weekend getting it ready for the hardwood guys to come in. Rhett and I could not have done it alone! Our friends, Ian and Jana Elford and my co-worker and good friend, Susan Mate, joined us yesterday in pulling up carpet, staples and tack board. It was hard work, painstaking, and back-breaking…and those three really stuck it out with us! Rhett and I are so blessed to have such great friends. And we know that we are now at the top of their list of friends to help them move, paint, pack….etc. And I’m happy to be there! Also, our friend, Ryan Matchullis, of Brother’s Painting was there on Friday and all day Saturday painting ceilings and prepping trim. Ryan paints professionally so we’ve decided to have him come in and coordinate all the painting to take place. I’ve sort of felt at times that we’re being extravagant having a professional painter come in to help us on our first house. But I now know there is just no way we would’ve gotten it all done in a timely matter by ourselves. We’ve really been blessed to have such wonderful help on this new adventure. Rhett’s parents come into town today and will be staying at the new house so they can let in the floor guys tomorrow morning while Rhett and I are off to work. Again, what a blessing to have help and a big thank you to you all!!

Tribute to Stormy
Stormy climbed into my lap, purring already, and looked up at me, adoring me for stroking her head, making me feel special.

You’re Ulysses!
by James Joyce
Most people are convinced that you don’t make any sense, but compared to what else you could say, what you’re saying now makes tons of sense. What people do understand about you is your vulgarity, which has convinced people that you are at once brilliant and repugnant. Meanwhile you are content to wander around aimlessly, taking in the sights and sounds of the city. What you see is vast, almost limitless, and brings you additional fame. When no one is looking, you dream of being a Greek folk hero.

Middle of the night surfing
It’s 2am and I can’t sleep. And this is Leah, not Rhett. I had a three hour nap early this evening; I couldn’t keep my eyes open. Tomorrow I will be regretting that nap more even than I am now. I have been up surfing for awhile. It all started with reading the poem Tracy posted by Auden and now I have ended up taking a quiz to find out which theologian I am similar to. And these are my results. I suppose I should find out more about this guy.
