UneeTee Tshirt Promo code

rhett-uneeteeThat’s a picture of me from a couple of Christmas’ ago, but as it turns out I am wearing the exact same thing today.

I have tried a variety of things to generate some funds on this site in the past. Google ads were a disaster. So I am moving towards advertising that I can control. In this case, affiliate sales. In this way, I can ensure that the only thing that gets advertised here are items/companies that I trust and use.

Well as you may know, I probably own about 15 UneeTee tshirts. All my shirts come from there. So it’s a product I trust. Well they are having a special on right now.

If you use the promo code LABORDAY you get 20% off. The promo ends May 2, 2009. So shop at UneeTee today. Get yourself some sweet, artist designed shirts and bring poppa some money!

Proactive Policing

I swear this brought a little tear to my eye. This is how you reimagine the world.

My first rally

CBC Rally

Check out my hot, rallying ass with my ultra-cool Indiana Jones bag covering it.

A couple weeks ago, I attended my first protest rally. It all happened the week before on Twitter. We were discussing our disappointment that the CBC was cutting 800 jobs which generally means that our local coverage, across the board, is going to be cut. There was a flow of conversation like—why hasn’t there been a rally? We should have one. When are you free? How about Friday. Okay. And all of a sudden, the #cbcrally hashtag was born on Twitter.

The last time I did any kind of rallying/holding a sign it was probably that time I put on a speedo and tried to lure desperate women (and men and cats) to a car wash…

So this was my first rally and it was actually pretty fun. I mean, I don’t anticipate it really did anything. But it was invigorating. I see now why people do it. It was kind of a rush. It was a lot of fun to have people support us and honk in favour of the CBC. However, I have to say, that it was even more thrilling to the guys who would drive by and give us the finger while shouting “FUCK THE CBC”. I enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow CBC’ers, but—as always—dissent is more interesting.

How to hold a sign

I may not know a lot about protesting or holding a sign, but I did learn. There really is only one rule when holding a sign and protesting—you must shake it. I don’t know what came over me. Maybe it was the spirit of the Lord. Maybe it was the dancer within. But that sign deserved to wave. To grab the most attention as possible. So, while standing on the side of Memorial Dr, I rocked my arm back and forth to give it a flag like motion. People honked. I did my job.

I am a communist

You capitalist pig-dogs don’t know anything! Gordon McDowell shot this hilarious video (and wrote an amusing post) for R4NT. Good job Gord. It also provided me with an image of me at the rally. It’s my backside (some say my “good” side), but it’s me nevertheless.

Rhett vs The Crab Apple Tree

I shot/edited this video yesterday. There was over 45 minutes of tape that got scrunched down to just over 3 minutes. So it’s a little slow in the middle, but I want you to get a sense of how ridiculous it is to try and cut down a huge tree with a bow saw. I am going to rent a chainsaw for the rest. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video!

Update: The tree is now completely down and my body hurts so bad.

My Black Doppelgänger

dopplegangerLook, let me be upfront. I don’t know how to be politically correct on this issue. But I apparently have a twin—a brother from another mother—who is black (see the full picture here).

My friend Lucas (well actually his wife Lesley) found this picture online. Because for some reason she was looking at prom suits made out of duct tape and found this picture…

Anyway, when I first saw it I had to do a do a couple checks because I couldn’t figure out if Lucas photoshopped a picture of me (he’s been known to do that). On closer inspection and reviewing the image close up, you can tell it’s obviously not me. But still, pretty crazy. I have been compared to other people before, but this is the first time I can see the similarities.

The Sneeze

I didn’t post yesterday, because my WP stats tell me that I have published 599 posts. That means that this is the 600th post on Bailing Bucket. I had another video that I wanted to share with you yesterday, but it wasn’t quite good enough. This one had me laughing so hard I was crying and there was snot all over the place.

HAPPY 600th POST!
