I like being a blame shifter. It takes away a lot of responsibility and stress that I might feel if I took responsibility for anything. Like last night, I should have spent more time working on my poems for tonight but I played Civ4 instead. Civ4 is a harsh temptress of video-game goodness and therefore it is Civ4′s fault. Well for todays topic I would like to place blame on the most popular targets—my parents and, specifically, my dad.
Poetic Duet
If you are paying attention to my little “Event Calendar” at the bottom of the page you will see that I just added another reading that I will be doing—Flywheel in May. But I will not be alone, no, I will not be alone. I will be performing my very first poetic duet. This duet is with non-other than the late, great Leif Baradoy. I don’t mean he’s dead. I just heard he might be pregnant. :laugh_tb:

Jian is Back on CBC With Q!
This summer, working at Green Drop, everyday I listened to Jian Ghomeshi as he hosted Sounds Like Canada. It was awesome. I can’t think of a better interviewer—George (Strombo) is pretty good. Jian is back on CBC Radio One and I am pumped. I haven’t heard it yet. The new show is called Q and even though the name isn’t too good, I am sure the show will be. I will let you know how it is after I listen today.
Web Design Grade: (F) B+
Well, I am done tinkering with this site. I am going to start designing my own theme and maybe it will work some day or maybe it won’t. But I can’t handle the continuing frustration of trying to mod this theme. It’s certainly a great theme, but I need something that is mine. I didn’t get everything I wanted to do in. But this is pretty close. With a couple nice, accidental surprises.
Soundlines Celebration & Other Nonsense
For those of you that might not know, Leif and I started a monthly open mic/reading series called Soundlines. Last night, was the second Soundlines and it went fantastic. Truly, I can’t believe the caliber and quality of the readers. It’s really exciting. What is also exciting is that Leah only has final exams left. What is not exciting is that I don’t think this is going to be a caliber post. More of an update on the current goings-on. And even though I may not be being my normal and entertaining self. I do feel propelled to write about these things.
Side note: I know have gotten several emails from people and because I was at Soundlines last night I didn’t have a chance to reply. In particular, Curt—I have no idea. I’m not an SK resident anymore so I can’t even use it until I move back.
