If you have seen Children of Men, and wondered and marvelled at the beauty of the cinematography, especially the long takes, you should watch the video below. In particular, there is one large scene that has stumped the film world with how it is shot. It is explained in the video. Take a peek. If you haven’t seen it, don’t watch this, there are spoilers in it.

This song was recommended to me and now I am doing the same to you. I had it as a post script in the previous post. But I have decided this requires it’s own post. Dad, listen to this song. It’s beautiful. This is Josh Ritter – Girl in the War:

It Don’t Matter if You’re Left or Right
Lately, I have been trying to give people the benefit of the doubt. I actually just went and looked up that phrase because I was worried I was screwing it up and I found a fun quote:
“Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.” — Hanlon’s Razor.
So I have been attempting this. It’s my new thing.Â

Great Commercials
A couple months ago, Leah and I cancelled our cable. We didn’t really watch any TV, plus it was an expense that we didn’t really need. But, for some reason, we still get an odd combination of channels. One of those channels is HGTV. Interestingly, I think we watch more TV now (because we get so hooked on those design/house buying shows) then we ever did when we had cable. Anyways, I am totally in love with the Globe & Mail Home Makeover commercials. They are amazing. I entered the contest today. I hope I win.
Off Day
I am having an off day. I just opened the microwave door. I was too close. I smacked myself in the face with the microwave. Terrific. Just terrific. My glasses went flying. Ugh. What’s with off days. Get lost!
I Can Be Your Huckleberry
I have started to notice a pattern. Every month or so, I have a couple days of down time. Like I need to throw my arms up in the air and wonder what the hell I am doing – are we doing? What’s the point? Just do, do, do. Yeh, I know. I don’t need to justify myself. I do want to explain myself, however. Some times you stumble into enough things in a row that open all the worst wounds. Last night, Leah and I watched Jesus Camp.
